ALTA FLACK RITES HELD AT CHURDAN

Alta George Flack, 78, was laid to rest August 8, with services at the First Baptist Church in Churdan and interment in the Highland township cemetery.

The Rev. Frank P. Fagerburg officiated. Mrs. Conrad Juergensen was at the organ.

Casketbearers were Darwin Simms, Carl Juergeson, Gerald Dunne, Paul Parker, Darvin Tasler and Merle Hoyle. Six nephews served as honorary bearers. They were Ralph Yeager, Keith Wright, Paul Hurdel and Darwin, Harold and Alfred Falck.

Alta George Flack, son of Alfred Thomas and Mary Luella Andrew Flack was born June 12, 1891 in Greene County, Iowa. He attended school in Bristol Township, and on November 11, 1914 he was united in marriage to Nellie Saunders at the home of her parents the Rev. and Mrs. M. C. Saunders in Churdan. They lived on a farm three miles south of Churdan until 1918 when they moved to their present farm northeast of Churdan, where they have since made their home. They were the parents of three children, Beulah, Byron and Berneice.

They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1964. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Churdan. He passed away suddenly Monday forenoon, August 4, 1969 at his home at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 22 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Roland Flack, three brothers, Roy, Ralph and Floyd, and one sister Lydia, Mrs. Will Hurdel. Those left to mourn his death are his wife Nellie, two daughters and one son, Buelah, Mrs. Wayne Brody of Churdan; Byron of Churdan; and Berneice, Mrs. George Patterson of Missoula, Montana; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, a twin brother Alva Falck of Jefferson and Dewey Flack of Lake City; four sisters, Laura, Mrs. Frank Yeager; Ruth, Mrs. Glenn Wing; both of Rockwell City; Mrs. Mary Wright; and Miss Ruby Flack, both of Churdan, a large number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
