Goldie Lulu (McClurg) Anderson Adams, was born January 5, 1895 in Scranton, Greene County, Iowa and died May 14, 1936 Iowa City, Iowa. She is buried in the Jefferson Cemetery. She was married 1st to Algy L. Anderson and married 2nd James Adams. She was the daughter of John Arthur & Kathryn [Katie] Elizabeth (Cox) McClurg.

Mrs. Goldie Adams

Goldie Lulu Adams, wife of James Adams passed away at the Carroll Hospital, May 14, 1936. She was 41 years, 4 months and 9 days old. Mrs. Adams was the daughter of John & Kathryn McClurg and was born at Scranton, Iowa, January 5, 1895.

She was educated in the Greene county schools and taught in the rural schools near Scranton for two years.

In December of 1914 she was married to Algy Anderson. They were the parents of 5 daughters & 2 sons: Betty May, who died in infancy; Mrs. Darlene Ginther; Mrs. Maxine Peterson; Nadine & Beverly Anderson all of Jefferson, Greene County, Iowa. Royal & Eugene Anderson both of Worthington, Minnesota.

In November, 1934, she was married to James Adams. One son, James Arthur, aged 3 weeks was born to Mr. & Mrs. Adams. The little lad is in the hospital at Carroll.

Mrs. Adams leaves surviving besides her immediate family, her mother & father, Mr. & Mrs. John A. McClurg of Scranton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Hazel Shay of Jewell, Iowa; Mrs. Bonnie Onnen of Rockwell City, Iowa; 1 brother Clyde McClurg of Bethany, Missouri; 2 grandchildren, Dorothy & Ronald Ginther. She was a member of the Christian Church at Scranton, Iowa, having united in young womanhood.

Funeral services were held at the Slininger Chapel Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. Gerald Berneking, pastor of the Central Church of Christ. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Verle Bryant & Mrs. R. W. Halford. Pallbearers were: M. F. Munsell, Henry Redden, Ralph Duff, Ralph Bullington, Wm Quirk & Mike Beckner.
