8 years on I'd forgotten I'd ever posted the above - it's apparently that long since I googled myself. Well, it's still lonely here, as I'm still waiting for the first response.

There is hope, in December 2013 descendants of my great-grandmother's brother on Mum's side got in touch from New Zealand after a mere 140 years.

Don't be shy - I'm Mr. Average - the other 2 Michael Stephanis are the Weepy Voiced Killer and the CEO of some major US firm. I'm somewhere in between.

I turned 68 last Monday. If you leave it much longer it could be too late!
