N.P. JENSEN OBITUARY
Nels Peter Jensen, the son of Chris and Marie Jensen, was born in Hjorring, Denmark, Feb. 19, 1881 and passed away Nov. 5, 1950 at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 16 days. He came to the United States in 1904 and settled in Fremont County.
He was united in marriage to Anna Jensen at Riverton, Iowa in 1909 and to this union seven children were born. Two daughters, Ellen and Christine preceded their father in death. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Luna of Mound City, Mo., and Mrs. Helen Gougan of Hamburg; three sons, Swen of Farragut, Carl of Red Oak and Chris of Emerson; eight grandchildren and a host of friends.
Mr. Jensen was a farmer, and lived south of Riverton for many years and only a few years ago retired from active farming and moved to Shenandoah. He maintained a keen interest in the occupation in which he was very successful. He was a kind husband and father and a good neighbor. He will be missed by a wide circle of friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Riverton, conducted by Rev. Dane Manning. Burial was in the Riverton cemetery.
