WORTH W. CARL OBITUARY

Worth W. Carl, son of James and Melissa Higgins Carl, was born near, Farragut, Iowa, Oct. 27, 1884, and passed away at the Hand hospital in Shenandoah, Nov. 5, 1950.

He attended the Maple Valley school in the vicinity of his home. June 16, 1909, he married Mabel Gordon, and to this union eight children were born. One daughter passed away in early childhood. Surviving him, with their mother, are five daughters and two sons: Mrs. Doyle Helms, Mrs. Jas. Moore, Mrs. Thos. Seddon, Mrs. Ralph Helms, Mrs. Thompson Greever, James Carl and Cpl. Robert Carl, now stationed at Munich, Germany. Mr. Carl was a farmer in the neighborhood of his birth until ill health forced his retirement in 1945. Since that date he had lived in Farragut. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, one brother, Homer Carl of Farragut, several other near relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at the Campbell Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Geo. Campbell, assisted by Rev. Horace Ireland. Burial was made in the Farragut cemetery with a Masonic grave service.
