MRS. MINNIE RAWLINGS
Mrs. Minnie Rawlings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Rawlings, was born in Kansas on May 18, 1870. Her sudden passing last Wednesday morning, November 1, at the age of 80 years, was a shock to those who had known her.
Mrs. Rawlings moved to Omaha in 1904 with her husband, and in 1936 came to Sidney, where she lived for seven years. In 1943 she move to Shenandoah, where she lived until death. In 1895 she married William Merritt in Marysville, Kansas. To this union were born two daughters, Saddie Beatrice who preceded her in death in 1918, and Mrs. Mabel Souder, now residing in Eugene, Oregon. In 1913 she married Jim Rawlings, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rawlings had two brothers, Warren and Alonza Wade. Both have passed on. One sister, Mrs. Belle Cosby now live in McCook, Nebr. Also surviving her are three grandchildren and four great grandchildren, all of Eugene, Ore.
Funeral services were held at the Johnson Funeral Home in Hamburg, Monday, Nov. 6. Services were conducted by Rev. Virgil L. Swope of Sidney, with interment in the Hamburg cemetery.
