C.T. HATCH DIED IN COLORADO SPRINGS
Charles T. Hatch, a resident of this community until about thirty years ago, passed away in Colorado Springs on Wednesday of last week. The body was brought to Hamburg Saturday for burial in the family plot in the Hamburg cemetery.
Charles Thurlo Hatch, the last of the family of Allison J. and Christie Bolster Hatch, was born in Hamburg, December 28, 1876 and passed away July 12, 1950, at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 13 days.
He completed his education in the Hamburg schools and was associated with his father in business for many years. Later he engaged in business with his sons in Iowa, moving to Colorado Springs, where that association was continued.
Mr. Hatch was a member of the Presbyterian church in Hamburg and Burlington, Iowa, and the Methodist church in Colorado Springs. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Kiwanis club of Colorado Springs and the Elks club in Shenandoah. He was a charter member of the Hamburg Kiwanis club.
He was united in marriage to Lulu Pullen in Riverton, Iowa, on July 2, 1898. To this union four sons and one daughter were born. The daughter, Madeline, passed away in 1910. Survivors are his wife, Lulu Pullen Hatch, four sons, Vern and Buryl of Pacific Palisades, Calif., Arnold and Robert of Colorado Springs, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Hatch celebrated their fifty-second wedding anniversary July 2 of this year. Mr. Hatch was a kind and generous father. He will not only be missed by his immediate family, but also by a large circle of friends and business associates.
Funeral services were held at Rash Funeral Chapel Saturday, July 15 at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. H.J. Noedling. Burial was made in the Hamburg cemetery.
