William Tysor, son Gabriel and Lydia Ellen Tysor, was born near Roseburg, Indiana, Aug. 14, 1870. He made several trips between Indiana and Iowa as a child. At the age of 14 he went to Nebraska to live with an uncle and aunt, returning to Riverton in early manhood, where he lived the remainder of his life.
In December of 1892 he was married to Melissa Isabelle Redd and to this union three sons were born, Truman of Washington, D.C.; Raymond of Riverton and Homer of Dallas, Texas. He engaged in farming for his life occupation and was highly esteemed by his friends and neighbors.
He was stricken with a paralytic stroke on March 12, 1940 and after ten years of patient suffering he fell quietly asleep, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 7 days on June 21, 1950.
He is survived by the three sons, two granddaughter, Mrs. Robert Jones of Silver Springs, Md., and Sharlene Tysor of Washinton, D.C.; three grandsons, James of Oklahoma, Chan of Oklahoma and Billy Tysor of Riverton and one great granddaughter, Kathleene Jones; also two brothers, John and Richard of Riverton, and one sister, Mrs. Rose Study of Wyoming.
Funeral rites were held at the Shull Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon, June 23, with Rev. Duane Manning in charge. Mrs. Robert Anderson sang, and Mrs. Wm. Stubbs assisted at the piano. Casket bearers were Raymond, Roy, Art, Jr., and Harold Barton, Richard Bridgeford and John Redd. Interment was in the Riverton cemetery.
Among the out of town relatives attending the funeral were Truman Tysor of Washington, D.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Tysor of Dallas, Tex.; Mr. and Mrs. Garrison Redd and John Redd of Sidney; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bridgeford of Hamburg, and John Henry Tysor of Shenandoah.
