FRANK MCCOWN OBITUARY

Frank McCown, a resident of this community for many years, passed away Thursday in Nebraska City. Mr. McCown had been blind for several years and had been bedfast for the past three years, due to a broken hip.

Frank McCown was born at Knoxville, Iowa, Aug. 31, 1854 and passed away May 11, 1950, having reached the age of 95 years, 8 months and 10 days. He united with the Baptist church at Knoxville, during his youth. His wife passed away about 12 years ago. Survivors include four daughtters, Mrs. Daisy Hendricks of Marysville, Montana; Mrs. Maude Watts of Souix City, Iowa; Mrs. Ada Richards of St. Joseph, Mo.; and Mrs. Jesse Williams of Nebraska City; one son, John McCown of Cheyenne, Wyoming; eleven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. One daughter and two sons preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the Johnson Funeral Home, Saturday, May 13 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. C.E. Kingsley and burial was made in the Hamburg cemetery.
