ORVAL JONES OBITUARY

Orval Arthur, eldest son of Harry and Nora Jones, was born in Madison township July 1, 1902 and died Feb. 4, 1950. "Casey" as he was known to all, spent all of his life near Riverton. He attended school in Pomeroy rural school.

On March 8, 1927, he was married to Anna Isabelle Baker, and to this union were born three sons and three daughters, Wayne of Thurman, Mrs. Lois Perkins of Nodaway, Virginia of Kansas City, Max, Harry and Clara Belle at home, all of whom survive him. He is also suvived by his wife, two grandchildren, Sherry Lynn Jones and J.W. Perkins, one brother, Reid, four sisters, Ester Jones, Mrs. Floyd Ward, Mrs. Elwin Kish and Mrs. Kenneth Parkinson, all of Riverton and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral rites were conducted at the Riverton Methodist Church, Thursday, Feb. 7, with Rev. C.A. Calkins, Methodist pastor at Tabor, in charge. Music was by Mrs. Ed Parkinson, Mrs. Leslie Johnson, Clarence Parkinson and Robert Tysor, with Mrs. Wm. Stubbs at the piano. Those in charge of flowers were Mrs. Kenneth Blackburn and Mrs. Harold Irwin of Thurman, Mrs. Glen Dyke and Mrs. Harrison Lybarger of Tabor, Mrs. Edwin Chaney of Sidney and Mrs. Ed Broughton of Riverton. The senior class of the Tabor school, of which Max Jones is a member, attended the services as a body. Interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery. Casket bearers were Harrison Lybarger, Paul Utterback, Earl Elliot, Harold Irwin, Claude Bicknell, Conrad Filburg, Harold Fulton and Glen Dyke.

Among the out of town relatives were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Royce and son of Lebanon, Kans.; Mrs. Cecil King and son and Mrs. Farrel Burton and daughter of Stockton, Kans.; Larry Jones of Norton, Kans.; Mrs. Dolan Elliot of Vogue, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Baker and daughter of Villisca; Jesse Baker of Shenandoah; David Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Irvan Jones, and Marie Baker, all of Hamburg; the Victor Conyak family and Mary Ellen Jones of Tabor.
