CLIPSTON, Leta M. (1902-2000)

Leta Marie (Barr) Clipston, 98 passed away April 28, 2000 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Tysor in Shenandoah.

Leta was born March 30, 1902 in Riverton to Harvey and Virdie (White) Barr. She attended school in Riverton.

Bruce D. McCluskey and Leta were married in St. Joseph, MO. on Feb. 20, 1928. One daughter, Ruth, was born to them.

Later, Leta married John W. Clipston, Sr. and two children were born to them, John W. Jr. and Shirley (Clipston) Dale.

Leta worked as a housekeeper for a number of years for a number of families in and around Riverton and as sales clerk for Kidd's Merchantile Store and Ludington's Grocery Store.

She accepted Christ as her Saviour and was baptized Sept. 25 1969 in the Church of Christ, Los Angeles, CA.

She made her home at Admiral Manor in Farragut for 19 years.

Mrs. Clipston was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands and a great-great granddaughter.

Funeral services were May 2 at Shull Funeral Home in Riverton with Rev. Cecil Dale of Kingsley, IA, grandson of Mrs. Clipston, and Rev. Bob Ray assisting. Burial was in the Riverton Cemetery.
