Harvey Colwell Barr, son of William D. and Mary Elizabeth Barr was born on what is known as the Dick Edgerton farm five miles south of Riverton, July 15, 1876 and passed away at his home in Riverton after an illness of 19 months, August 12, at the age of 63 years, having lived his entire life in and near Riverton.

He was united in marriage to Virdie Lenora White at Pleasant Grove, near Riverton, December 25, 1900. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Leta Marie Clipston of Shenandoah.

He is also survived by his wife, a granddaughter, Ruth and grandson, John, one sister Mrs. Cora Roberts of Riverton.

He received his education in the Riverton school, graduating with the class of 1893. Being an industrious young man he immediately took up the carpenter trade and by diligent and careful application became a skilled workman along all lines of construction and interior decoration.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday afternoon by Rev. D.N. Gillette of Hamburg. Two duets were rendered by Mrs. Leslie Johnson and Mrs. Ellis Broughton with Mrs. Wm. Stubbs at the piano. The pallbearers were Cecil Kish, Chas. Shearer, W.A. Inbody, Kenneth, Ed and Chancy Parkison. Interment was made in the Riverton cemetery.
