Death of A.J. Dinwiddie - Early Thursday morning the sad news passed over Hamburg that A.J. Dinwiddie was dead.

Mr. Dinwiddie had been very ill for four weeks. The immediate cause of his death was blood poisoning resulting from a very large malignant carbuncle on the neck. Very little hope was entertained for his full recovery from the first, owing to bad diabetes from which the patient had been suffering for a year or more past. It is stated by the physician who attended him that the carbuncle was caused by diabetes. The very best medical and surgical attention was given him.

Mr. Dinwiddie was born in Indiana on November 9, 1846. He moved to Missouri in 1868, and on January 30, 1870, was married to Mary Louise Bailey, who with a son, Isaac B Dinwiddie, he leaves to mourn his loss. He had been a resident of Hamburg for fourteen years. He was a charter member of the K. and P. Lodge and also a member of the Masonic and Eastern Star lodges. He was for three years a member of the school board.

The funeral will take place Sunday, March 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the Baptist Church, Rev. Cole preaching the sermon. The lodges of which he is a member will attend the funeral and conduct the services at the cemetery.

NOTE: Abraham Dinwiddie was a veteran of the Civil War, serving with Co I 72nd Indiana Infantry 1862-1865.
