May 7, 1925Death Of Highly Respected Woman On Saturday - - Mrs. A.J. Dinwiddie-Mitchell, passed away at the home of her son, Isaac Dinwiddie, on Saturday night, following an illness of some weeks. All that loving hands and medical skill could do was in vain, and she went to her reward after much suffering. Mrs. Mitchell had long been a resident of this community, in fact all but a few short years of her life were spent in and about Hamburg. She was a woman of true christian character, and was loved by all who knew her.
Mary Louisa Bailey was born near Tarkio, Missouri, on March 27, 1852 and died at the home of her son, Isaac Dinwiddie, in Hamburg, on May 2, 1925, aged 73 years, 1 month, and 5 days. She was united in marriage on June 30, 1870, to Abraham J Dinwiddie, who departed this life on March 12, 1903. On February 22, 1905, she was united in marriage to William R. Mitchell of Greenfield, Iowa, who died November 14, 1914. Since that time she has resided in Hamburg.
At an early age she united with the Christian Church at Lone Chapel and later transferred her membership to the Baptist Church in this place. She leaves to mourn her loss a son, Isaac B Dinwiddie, and sisters; Mrs. Nancy Clary of Hamburg and Mrs. Lizzie Landreth of Axtell, Kansas; besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church and interment was made in the Hamburg Cemetery.
