LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JOHN COX
I, John Cox, of Fremont County Iowa being of sound mind and memory do make publish and decclare my last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows, to wit:
1st I devise that all my just debts be fully paid.
2nd I give and bequeath to my son John C. Cox the sum of One Thousand Dollars.
3rd I give and bequeath to my son William B. Cox the sum of One Thousand Dollars.
4th I give devise and bequeath to my son Thomas Cox the sum of Three Thousand Dollars
5th I give devise and bequeath to my two grand children Bessie and Florence Cox, daughters of my son John C. Cox the sum of Five Hundred Dollars each, and in the event that either of my said grand children should die before attaining majority I direct that the remaining of said two grand children take the share of the one so deceased as herein bequeathed.
6th I give devise and bequeath to the M. E. Church of Farragut, Iowa the sum of Two Hundred Dollars of which fifty dollars, is to be paid each year after my death until all is paid. Same to be applied on salary of the Minister in Charge.
7th I give and bequeath to Francis Lamb, the sum of One Hundred Dollars, on account of her past faithfulness to my family.
8th I direct that all notes held by me at time of my death, against any of my children be treated as assets of my Estate. That all personal and real property owned by me at time of death be sold by my executors and after the payment of the bequests herein made or reserving enough to pay same. I direct that all the remainder of my estate be equally divided between my children, John C. Cox, William B. Cox, Thomas Cox, Samuel A. Cox , Andrew J. Cox and Ann Snyder, share and share alike.
9th For the purpose of carrying out the request of my deceased wife I direct that the Household furniture and supplies owned by me be divided between Anna Snyder, Samuel A. Cox and Andrew J. Cox.
10th I direct that the deeds made by me of date May 25th 1888 to my children Samuel A. Cox, Andrew J. Cox, William A.
Cox, John C. Cox and Anna Snyder be delivered to the grantees named therein by my Executors in the event tht they have not been delivered during my life time. And I now state it to be my will that each of said grantees take and have the land described in said deeds respectively to each therein described as grantees.11th I hereby designate Harry Rogers of Farragut, Iowa and my son, John C. Cox, as executors of this my last Will, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
