THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF REBECCA VAN EATON
(not my relative)In the Name of God Amen:
I Rebecca Van Eaton of the Town of Sidney in the County of Fremont State of Iowa, of the age of
sixty five years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last Will
and Testament in manner following, that is to say:First - I give and devise to my son Joseph J. Vaneaton, all that portion (of) land owned by me upon
which my building house now stands consisting of about twenty five acres of land in the NW
quarter of the NW quarter of Section thirty five Township sixty nine Range forty two, in the Town of
Sidney in the County of Fremont and State of Iowa to have and to hold the same foreer.Second - I give and devise all the rest, residence and remainder of my Real Estate of every name
and nature whatever to my sons, A. J. Vaneaton, W. Q. Vaneaton, James Vaneaton and my
daughters, Mary E. Shannon, Caroline P. Mitchell, Marguritte S. Spratlen, Isabell R. Love, Mellissie
E. Vaneaton and to my grandchildren, children of my deceased daughter, Sarah A. Palmer (they to
take their mother's share the same as though she were living) one share vis: Joseph F. Palmer,
Chas. A. Palmer, Florence N. Palmer and Effie E. Palmer in equal portions share and share alike,
that is to say the said Real Estate to be divided into ten shares of equal value and each one of my
said children (Joseph, excepted, on account of the special devices afforsaid to him) to take one
share and my said grandchildren to take the remaining one share to have and to hold the same
forever.

that at the April term 1888 of the said Court on the 14th day of May 1888 the foregoing will of
Rebecca Vaneaton, deceased, was duely proven allowed and admitted to probate. In testimony
whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said Court at my office in
