(not my relative)I William R. Smith of Farragut Fremont County Iowa being of sound mind do hereby make this my
last will. I give, devise and bequeath my estate, both personal and real as follows: that is to say:I appoint as my administrators my wife Sarah E. Smith, Stephen Smith and Anthony Rhodes, all of
Fremont County Iowa.It is my will that my wife Sarah E. Smith shall have all household goods and furniture now in our
homestead. Also one half of all personal property and the one half of proceeds of sale of my real
estate, said bequest to be paid first.It is my will that John R. Smith of Fremont County Iowa, Nancy C. Rhodes (formerly Smith) of
Fremont County Iowa, Sarah E. Chadwick (formerly Smith of Spink County, Dakota, Edwin S.
Wood of Hitchcock County Nebraska and Smith Vangilder of Fremont County Iowa, the net over
half of all personal, not otherwise bequeathed and the net one half of proceeds of all real estate to
equally divided between the six persons last above named to wit: John R. Smith, Stephen Smith,
Nancy C. Rhodes, Sarah E. Chadwick, Edward S. Wood and Smith Vangilder.I first authorize my administrators to pay any indebtedness against my estate including the
expenses of my last illness and funeral.It is my will that my homestead to wit: Lots Twelve and Fourteen in U.D. (Cays?) first addition to
Farragut Iowa and my farm to wit: the North West quarter of Section Twenty Three Township Sixty
nine North of Range Forty one west in Fremont county Iowa be sold and the cash proceeds be
divided as herein before mentioned. Dated at Farragut Iowa on this Twenty Eight day of January
A.D. 1886.

on the 28th day of January 1886 when William R. Smith signed the foregoing instrument as and for
his last will and we at his request and in his presence signed the same as witnesses thereto and
he then and there published and declared the foregoing as his last will and testament. Witness our
hands this 28th day of January 1886:
