On the on the Franklin co. IAGenWeb site, Hiram Coon is on the list of soldiers from the 12th Iowa. On the Military Records index (link below) look at the soldier lists titled "They Served from Iowa".

The second database is the very beginning of a compilation of CW soldiers that will eventually grow to include all soldiers who "Lived in, died in or are buried in Franklin county", no matter where they served from. Currently I am not duplicating the names from the 1st list onto the 2nd list unless I have a photo or more info about them other than the company and regiment they served with.

If you have a photo or additional information about Hiram Coon, I'd be glad to add his name to the compiled list.
