Willis Marvin Kruckenberg, 89, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. He was born on July 3, 1928, in Franklin County, Iowa, to Chriss and Dena (Abbas) Kruckenberg.
Willis graduated from Hansell Consolidated. He was united in marriage to Marlys Jones on September 5, 1950; she preceded him in death. Willis then married Betty Palmer on September 9, 2000; she also preceded him in death.
Willis worked for Mulford Construction. He was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, the Hampton Senior Center and the Moose Lodge in Iowa Falls.
Willis enjoyed fishing, camping, canoeing, bow hunting, following the Iowa Hawkeyes, and volunteering at the local nursing home. He loved spending time with his family and going to his grandchildren's various school activities.
Willis is survived by his son Michael (Vonnie) Kruckenberg of Charles City, daughter Kathy (Jim) Risse of Fairbank, daughter Debbie (Craig) Silver of Hansell, son Brian (Brenda) Kruckenberg of Clear Lake, and daughter Dena (Kevin) Paullus of Hampton, grandchildren Ryan (Carrie) Kruckenberg, Kari (Jon) Leete, Gina (Tony) Rechkemmer, Jerad Silver, Amy (Jacob) Spratt, Kelli (Brett) Larson, Nathan (Olivia) Huntley, Mikaela (Ryan) Schultes and grand puppies, great-grandchildren Haley, Hanna, Kobe and Kate Risse, Stella, Sienna and Sawyer Rechkemmer, Mya and Hazel Leete, Delaney and Leo Spratt, Jonah Larson, and Kyrie Huntley, brother Donald (Sharon) Kruckenberg of Rockwell, brother David (Donna) Kruckenberg of Rockwell, step-daughter Shirley Hamilton of Mason City, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Chriss and Dena, both wives Marlys and Betty, grandson Jamie Risse and brother Melvin (Kaye).
Memorials will be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.
