Hilbur J. Andersen, 79, of Hampton, brother-in-law of Delta McKee of Chapin, died of natural causes on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1993, at the Sheffield Care Center, Sheffield.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec 31, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Hampton, with the Rev. Joyce Guldager officiating. Burial was in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hampton.

Hilbur J. Anderson was born April 15, 1914, at Irwin, the son of Andrew C. and Anna (Christensen) Andersen. He was educated at Iowa Falls High School.

He married Irma Rasmussen on May 2, 1938, at Manchester.

He was a farmer and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, of Hampton; a daughter, Karen (Mrs. Terry) Wheeler of Hampton; two sisters, Margaret Vaudt of Whittemore and Helen Fohl of Beaverton, Ore.; a brother, Charles Andersen of Wenfield, Conn.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Harry dean Andersen; five sisters, Edna Rish, Elsie McLlhatton, Leona VerHelst, Clara Andersen and Stella Andersen; and six brothers, Fred, Martin, Clarence, Lars, Otto and Walter Andersen.
