Sophus J. Christensen, age 76, of Hampton, passed away Monday, June 14, at Franklin General Hospital, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church, southwest of Hampton, and burial was made in the church cemetery. Rev. Leo Andersen officiated at the last rites. The Green and Sietsema Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born November 5, 1894, in Franklin county, the son of George and Caroline Jorgensen Christensen. On April 22, 1926, he was married to Dagmar Jacobsen, at Hampton and they farmed until retiring and moving to Hampton eleven years ago.

Mr. Christensen is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Frances Seehusen, of Hampton, one granddaughter, Christine Seehusen and one brother John Christensen, of Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Franklin County barracks and a veteran of World War I.
