Latimer-- Dr. O.N. Schultz, 96, of Latimer, died Friday (March 7, 1986) at a Hampton hospital.
Dr. Schultz was born July 14, 1889, at Ringsted to Peter and Christina (Krogh) Schultz.

He was raised and educated at Ringsted. He graduated from Iowa State in 1917 with a degree in veterinary medicine.

From 1917-1918 he was a second lieutenant in the Army during World war I.

He came to Latimer in 1919 where he opened a veterinary business, Dr. Schultz retired in 1959.
On Sept, 29, 1921, he married Alvena Johns at Latimer.

He was a member of the American Legion and Honorary Scholastic Fraternity at Iowa State. He was the third veterinarian in Franklin County and was a pioneer in many areas of veterinarian medicine.

The Willim Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Roger of Seattle, and Daryl, Elk Grove Village, Ill.; a sister Anna Kaltoft, Tyler, Minn., and six grandchildren.
