JORGENSEN, ERICKSON, WILLIAMSON, LONDERGAN, GULDBERG, JOHNSON

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Nis Jorgensen, 87, at the John Londergan home at Thornton at 1:00 and at St. John's Church near Coulter at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, afternoon, Feb. 20, 1938.

Mrs. Jorgensen moved to Thornton last fall and has since lived with her daughter, Mrs. Londergan. She has been in failing health for several months.

Burial was in St. John's Cemetery near Coulter.
Mrs. Nis Jorgensen was born in Sjeland, Denmark, on June 13, 1851. She came to the United States in 1873 and located near Negarne, Michigan and in 1875 was married to Paul Erickson. To this union, nine daughters were born; four preceded their mother in death.

In 1879 she and her family came to Iowa and settled on a farm in Scott Township, Franklin Co.

Mr. Erickson died in 1898.

She married Nis Jorgensen in 1900. He passed away April 10, 1936.

She died February 18, 1938 at Thornton.

Surviving are her five daughters; Mrs. Will Williamson of Battle Lake, Minn.; Mrs. John Londergan of Thornton; Mrs. E.N. Guldberg of Meservey: Mrs. J.K. Johnson, Mason City.
Also 10 grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
