Folmer M. Jorgensen, 89, of Hampton, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at the Hampton Health care Center in Hampton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hampton, with the Rev, Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Folmer was born Jan. 9, 1909, in Hampton, the son of Andrew Jorgensen and Karen Miller. He attended schools in Hamilton Township in Franklin County, and on June 8, 1940, he married Evelyn Webster in Chicago, Ill.

Folmer was a farmer and a lifelong member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Hampton. He was also a former member of the Hampton Lions club and Franklin County Fair Board of directors, and he was a longtime member of the Quarterback Club and the Franklin County Beef Producers.

He is survived by his son, Lloyd Jorgensen of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Jane Vandre of Hilliard, Ohio, and Kaye Peters of Hampton; one brother, Frode Jorgensen of San Mateo, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Folmer was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother; and two sisters.
