Ida Egede, 101, of Hampton, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 1995, at the Hampton care Center.

Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Hampton, with the Rev. Joyce Guldager officiating. Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

She was born July 25, 1894, in Fredsville, the daughter of Peter and Kjersten (Jensen) Miller. She received her education in rural Hamilton Township schools and the Iowa State Teachers' College. She married Hans Egede June 1, 1928, in Hampton.

She was a teacher and member of St. John's Lutheran church.

She is survived by one son, Halvor Egede of rural Hampton; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Solvejg) Hedlund of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren;and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 10 brothers and sisters.
