Funeral services for Peter M. Davidsen, 84, of Latimer were held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Latimer. Military honors were given at St. John's Cemetery, east of Coulter, by the Latimer Americam Legion. The Rev. Kenneth Krueger officiated at the service and the Willim Funeral Home of Latimer was in charge of the arrangements.
He died on Friday at the Franklin Nursing Home in Hampton where he had been a patient for the past several weeks.Born on Sept. 10, 1892 at Ringsted in Emmit County, Iowa, he was the son of Soren and Kristine Christensen Davidsen and grew to manhood in the area of his birth. In 1912 he came to Latimer where he farmed. In April of 1976 he moved to Latimer.
He was married to Hannah Jorgensen on Aug. 30, 1927, at Des Moines and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Elna) Meyer and Mrs. Glenn (Jeanette) Freie both of Latimer. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was prceded in death by his parents and a son, Robert, in 1941.
Mr. Davidsen served his country with the Army in World War I and was a member of the Hansen-Have Post No. 658 of the American Legion in Latimer. He also served for 11 years on the Latimer School Board.
