Chapin - G.A. Mayer, 81, a well known resident of this community for 55 years, died at his home here Monday after a short illness.

He was engaged in farming until about 14 years ago when he and his wife moved to their present home in Chapin.

Mr. Mayer is survived by his widow, two daughters and one son, Mrs. D.L. Randolph of Washington, D.C., Everet K. Mayer of Chapin and Mrs. Glen Fromm of Des Moines, and two grandchildren, and one brother, Edward Mayer of Washington, Iowa.

Funeral services wil be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Chapin Congregational church in charge of the Rev. Herbert Marsh of Clarksvile, a former pastor, and burial will be made in the Wayside cemetery. The Wartnaby funeral of Sheffield is in charge.
