Hampton - Charles Peterson, 78, a long-time theater operator, died Tuesday at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn. He came here from Belmond in 1917 and had operated the Windsor Theater here since that time.

Mr. Peterson was a member of the Congregational Church of Hampton; Rotary Club, past president of the North Iowa Shrine, a 32nd degree Mason and active in all Masonic organizations.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Walter, who now operates the theater; two daughters, Mrs. H.H. Wacker, Hampton; Mrs. J.S. Rule, Trinidad, Colo.; a brother George, Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Vogel Funeral Home here.
