The Chronicle, Hampton, Iowa
--------------------------------------------------

Mrs. Charles C. Miner died at her home a few miles south of Sheffield Tuesday, February 5th. Mrs. Miner had been a sufferer for some time with that dread disease, consumption. Her death, though not unexpected, is a sad blow, nevertheless, to the husband and little son and other relatives. The deceased maiden name was Gussie Hamilton and she was born February 20, 1868, at Monticello, Wis. In 1873 she moved with her parents to Franklin county. On February 1, 1803 she was married to the now bereaved husband, Charles C. Miner. She was an earnest and prayerful christian from childhood, always striving to do that which would be right and just in the sight of her God. She was a member of the M.E. Church having united with the church at Corwith about six years ago. Besides the husband and little son she leaves a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Hamilton, of Chapin, three sisters and two brothers to mourn her untimely death. Her friends who mourn with these relatives are numerous as she was one who was universally liked and esteemed. The funeral services were held this afternoon at half past one o'clock from the Chapin M.E. church, being conducted by Rev. H. J. Bowder of this place. The services were largely attended by sympathizing friends. The interment was in Old Chapin cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the grief stricken relatives.

Mrs. Charles Miner is released from her suffering. Her death was not expected so soon by her friends. The funeral occured on Thursday at the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Bowder. it seems sad to see one taken away so early in life, just when everything was most promising for a lif of usefulness and happiness. Such is life and all our sorrow and anguish will not change it.
