MRS. WARD LEVITT DEAD
Passed Away At Lutheran Hospital Following Operation

This community was saddened last Friday morning when the news that Mrs. Ward Levitt had passed away at the Lutheran hospital at Hampton that morning reached here. She had gone to the hospital for an operation for appendicitis with the hope that it would improve her health. The operation was successful but later complications caused her death.
Jessie Irene Taylor Levitt was born at Centerville, South Dakota, on December 23, 1888, and departed this life at the Lutheran hospital at Hampton, on Friday morning, July 1st., at the age of 32 years, 6 months and 7 days.
At the age of twelve years she was united with the Baptist church at Huntley, Minn., and has since been a faithful member of the denomination.
Her school days were spent at Windom, Minn.
In 1915 she was united in marriage to Ward C. Levitt and made her home at Bruce, South Dakota, where they lived until the outbreak of the World War and after hostilities ceased she and her husband moved to Sheffield where they have lived since.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, her mother, Mrs. C.C. Miner, two sisters Mrs. M.C. Nunke and Miss Pearl Taylor, and a step brother, Scott Miner.
Besides her mother, sisters and step brother from Owatonna, Minn., the relatives from out of town who were here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Levitt, of Brookings, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Miner, of Algona, Iowa; G.O. Miner, of Clear Lake, Iowa; Mrs. Dan Inman, of Algona, Iowa; Charles Baker, of Mason City, Iowa; and Mrs. Carl Reipke of Windom, Minn.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church in Sheffield on Sunday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Chap. T. L. Robers, and interment made at the Old Chapin cemetery.
