Last Rights Held For Former Geneva Man—M. F. Appleby Passed Away In St. Louis—Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Greenfield funeral home in Hampton for Myron F. Appleby, former resident of Geneva, who passed away last Thursday, May 29th at the hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Rev. D. M. Beggs, pastor of the Congregational church, in Hampton, was in charge of the final rites and burial was made in the cemetery in Coulter.

Myron Flavious Appleby was born August 23, 1893, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Appleby, at Geneva. He is survived by his wife, one son, Kenneth Applby, of Waterloo, one brother, Alfred Appleby, of Reardon, Washington and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Hohn, of Des Moines, Mrs. Ethel Thorp, of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Dale Agler, of Dougherty, and Mrs. Dewey LaRue, of Eagle Grove.

Mr. and Mrs. Appleby lived in Geneva for several years before moving to Atchison, Kansas, in 1927.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Appleby, of Waterloo, attended the funeral of his father, Myron Appleby, at Hampton Monday. Burial was made in the Coulter cemetery. Mr. Appleby died in a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, and formerly resided with his parents in this community. (Hampton, Iowa, June 5, 1947)
