THE CHRONICLE, HAMPTON, IOWA, APRL [sic] 28, 1949:
"LAST RITES TODAY FOR CHAPIN GIRL
"Miss Pearl Green Died Tuesday After Lengthy Illness
"Chapin, Iowa, April 27. - Funeral services will be held in the Chapin Methodist church, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, for Miss Pearl Green, age nineteen, who passed away Tuesday morning, with Rev. H.M. Tiffany officiating, and burial will be made in the Old Chapin cemetery. The Green funeral home, of Hampton, is in charge. Miss Pearl Mabel Green, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Lewis Green, was born December 22, 1929, at Sheffield, Iowa, and passed away at the home of her parents in Chapin, on Tuesday morning, April 26th, at 1:05 o'clock, after an illness of five and one-half months. Pearl's short life was spent in this vicinity attending the Chapin schools and graduating with the class of 1948. She was always greatly interested and ever ready to support the school activities. Besides her parents she leaves to mourn her departure on sister, Mrs. Maxine Letzring, of Sheffield; four brothers, Robert D. Green, of Storm Lake; Lynndel L. Green, of Chapin; James J. Green, of Charles City; and Daren L. Green, of Charlotte, North Carolina; one step-brother, Ronald Seator, of Deer River, Minnesota, and one step-sister, Mrs. Marie Trebil, of Mason City, together with nine nephews and nieces. She was preceded [sic] in death by her mother and two sisters."
