CLAY PARKER, 65, TAKEN BY DEATH

Clay Ripley Parker, 65, died this morning at his home in Floyd of a heart condition.

Funeral services are pending. Friends may call at the Grossman Funeral Home.

Mr. Parker was born in Riverton Township, June 19, 1888, the son of Stephen A. and Lovina Ripley Parker. He attended rural schools in Riverton Township and was married November 30, 1910, to Blanche Smith at her home in Riverton Township.

Mr. Parker farmed until 1925. He then moved to California where the family lived for two years. He was engaged as a machinist. Upon their return to this area, Mr. Parker farmed until moving to Charles City in 1946, where he was employed at the Oliver Corporation. He also assisted his son-in-law, Henry Bahlman in the Sport Shop.

Surviving are his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Bahlman, one brother: Howard (Budge) Parker and two sisters: Mrs. Mildred Ripley, San Leandro, California, and Mrs. Frank Carr, Charles City. Also two granddaughters survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Clay Parker died 18 February 1954 and is buried at Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Iowa.
