James "Jim" Turnbull

Mason City, Iowa - James "Jim" Turnbull, 60, of Mason City, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at his home.

His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel
125 Third St. N.E. in Mason City, with the Rev. Christopher Podhajsky of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating.

Following the service according to Jim's wishes, his body will be cremated.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Jim Turnbull Memorial Fund.

James Irwin Turnbull was born on November 25, 1942, in Charles City, Iowa, son of Clifford and Leona (Awe) Turnbull. He grew up in Rockford and attended school in Rockford and Nora Springs.

Jim worked as a truck driver for most of his life, both self-employed and for several businesses including Kelley Truck Line and Bonner Trucking.

He owned the Waterhole tavern in Rockwell for a number of years before driving truck for Ruan in Mason City.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his buddies, gambling and playing cards.

Jim is survived by two sons, Troy Turnbull, of Nora Springs, and Scott Turnbull and his wife, Candis, of Mason City, one sister, Joan Marrs and her husband, Jon, of Charles City, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joel Turnbull, and a nephew, David Ward, and a brother-in-law, Gary Ward.
