Obituary for Earl Louis Smith

Earl Louis Smith, 74 years, at home, Hampton, Iowa, died the 9th of January 2008 at his home. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hamoton in charge of funeral arrangements.

Their will be no visitation or funeral service for Earl Louis Smith. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery, Lot 100, Marble Rock, Iowa.

Earl Louis Smith was born October 19, 1933 near Marble Rock, Iowa. Earl is the eldest son of George Clifford Smith and Henrietta Alice Fink-Smith of Marble Rock, Iowa. On May 17, 1953, he was united in marriage to Betty Mae Vorhes-Smith, the daughter of Doyle Edgar Vorhes and Lorraine Veonne Ackley-Vorhes-Ripley, at Greene, Iowa. Out of this union they had four children.

Earl Louis Smith is survived by a daughter, Shirley A. Smith; son, George C. Smith and family; and son, Doyle E. Smith and family, and daughter, Brenda L. Jutting and family.

Earl Louis Smith is also survived by one brother, Harry (Mary) Smith and family of Waterloo, Iowa; five sisters: Alice (Marvin) Lamb and family of charles City, Iowa; Sharon (Richard) Frascht and family of Marble Rock, Iowa; Linda Nelson and family of Marion, Iowa; Marie (Gary) Peer and family of Craig, Colorado; Judy (Ted) Pitzenberger and family of Dougherty, Iowa; and one sister-in-law, Donna Crooks and family of Charles City, Iowa. Earl Louis Smith is survived by several other family members consisting of uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Mae Vorhes-Smith, his beloved parents, George Clifford (G.C.) Smith and Henrietta Alice Fink-Smith, his beloved mother and father and father-in-law, Doyle Edgar Vorhes, Lorainne Veonne Ackley-Vorhes-Ripley, and step-father-in-law Max Ripley.

Earl Louis Smith will surely be missed by both family and friends.
