CHARLES CITY – Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Central Methodist church for Mrs. Minnie Braend, 81, widow of Henry Braend, who died at the home of her son, Irving Braend. She leaves two sons, Irving and Clarence, a stepson Frank Braend; one grandson. Also surviving are two brothers, John and Fred Krueger, all of Charles City.

The Hauser Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.

Source: A newspaper clipping among the Birkholz family papers. It was likely published in a local newspaper in Charles City, Iowa. A copy of the clipping was included in a family scrapbook compiled by Carol Spicer, of Thompson, North Dakota in 2008.
