Sherri Goddard-Nelson, 59, of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at her home.

Sherri was born May 10, 1956, in Charles City, Iowa, to Eleanor and Marvin Goddard. She grew up in Nashua, Iowa, and graduated from high school in Nashua in 1974.

On August 6, 2005, Sherri married Timothy Nelson in Austin. The couple resided in Austin. Sherri worked at Hormel since January 1986. Sherri enjoyed crocheting, drawing, playing games, painting, riding motorcycle, and spending time with her family and numerous friends.

Survivors include her husband, Timothy Nelson, Austin, Minnesota; daughter, Heather (Darin) Lumm, Medford, Minnesota; son, Sky (Britney) Thompson, Owatonna, Minnesota; three step daughters, Rachel (Arthur) Powell, Clarks Grove, Mionnesota, Jennifer (Andrew) Douty, Austin, Minnesota, Kimberly Nelson, Austin, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Richard) Kellogg, Fort Dodge, Iowa; two brothers, Gary (Carol) Goddard, Nashua, Iowa, Larry (Pauline) Goddard, Owatonna, Minnesota; father-in-law, Joseph Nelson (Arlene Hueman), Austin, Minnesota; nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Sherri is preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and Marvin Goddard; mother-in-law, Mary Anne Nelson.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Mayer Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Chinander officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Monday.
