Karen was born on January 6, 1942 one of six children to Earl and Thelma “Gravunder” Kellogg. She graduated from Charles City High School with the class of 1960. During high school she became a pen pal with a person in Utah, who had connections with the Woman’s Professional Wrestling Association. She moved to Ohio and became a professional wrestler and held the title of Light weight world champion for several years. Her wrestling was mostly on the East coast and the Southern portion of the US, but she made sure she made a swing through the Midwest with a meet at Charles City, Waterloo and Kansas City.

She met and later married Bob Heuton on June 12, 1976 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mason City. They moved to Des Moines where they raise their daughter and made sure she was kept busy with many different activities. They returned to Charles City often to visit her sister and brothers.

Karen enjoyed listening to classical music, always had a book with her, and would watch various television shows including the Sonny and Cher show. At her seventeen year stay at the care center she enjoyed the bingo games and doing cross word puzzles and loved her diet Coke. Her husband Bob lived in the assisted living quarters at the care center complex.
