Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.Patricia "Pat" Ritter, 77, of Charles City, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral Mass for Pat Ritter will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Gary Mayer will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.
Visitation will be held at Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 with a Scripture Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral Mass on Wednesday at the church.
Patricia Ann (Crandall) Ritter, the daughter of Orlo and Maggie (Penticoff) Crandall, was born December 3, 1938 in Charles City, Iowa. She attended school in Charles City and Floyd, graduating from Floyd High School in 1956.
On September 13, 1958, Pat was united in marriage to Roger Ritter. The couple made their home in the Charles City area and raised their family. Pat was employed at Oliver/White Farm until they closed their doors, helped Hettie Kukhan make floral arrangements in her basement and worked at Kmart until her retirement. Even in retirement Pat kept herself busy by watching three of her great-grandchildren during the day.
Pat was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. She was an avid bowler, loved her Iowa Hawkeyes and was very good about following her children and grandchildren throughout their high school sporting careers.
Pat and Roger were big supporters of the wrestling team and the softball team watching softball even through state tournament play for many years. Pat loved spending quality time with her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Living family members include her husband of 57 years, Roger; children: Carol (Curt) Reams of Charles City, Jeff Ritter (Lynn Forer) of Charles City and Brian Ritter of New York, New York; four grandchildren: Kelli (Brian) Bohlen, Tyler Reams (Lacy Berns), Kyle Reams (Rachel Fox) and Lauren (Elias) Valencia-Martinez; seven great-grandchildren: Emma, Ethan, Logan, Cael, Emerson, Maysa and Ryker; three sisters: Dorothy Arndt of California, Phyllis (Bernard) Farmer of Arizona and Nancy (Butch) Koenigsfeld of Floyd; one brother, Russell (Jackie) Crandall of Norwalk; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Valda Dilley and Genevieve Smith; and her brother, James "Jimmy" Crandall.
