NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Donna F. Jacobsen, 84, of Nora Springs, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs, and then one hour before the service at the church.

Donna F. Jacobsen, 84, of Nora Springs, Iowa died Friday Nov. 27, 2015 at the Mercy Medical Center
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 2, 2015 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, Iowa with Rev. Dave Werges officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs, Iowa. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs and then one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church. Family suggests memorials to Donna F. Jacobsen memorial fund.

Donna was born August 14, 1931, at home in Rockford, Iowa the daughter of Bernard and Gertrude (Golly) Losee. She graduated from Rockford High School in 1948. She then attended Hamilton Business College and Mason City Jr. College. While attending college she received a 1st place State Typing Award.

She married Harold “Bud” Jacobsen July 16, 1950 in Rockford, Iowa. They lived most of their married life in the Rockford and Nora Springs area.

Donna worked at various nursing homes most of her life as a CNA for over 37 years retiring at the age 70 from I.O.O.F. Home in 2001.

She enjoyed sewing, camping, baking and crocheting. Donna was well known for the mints she made for special occasions and her chicken and noodles.

She was very proud of her family and made every grandchild of hers’ feel very special. Donna was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, Iowa.

Donna is survived by her nine daughters Caroline Massee, Osage, Iowa, Diana Gilbert, Coralville, Iowa, Joyce Craig, Mason City, Iowa, Cheryl (Bob) Morrison, Mason City, Iowa, Connie (John) Downing, Nora Springs, Iowa, Christie Reynolds, Nora Springs, Iowa, Sheila Craig, Nora Springs, Iowa, Carmen (Tom) Bryant, Manly, Iowa and Shannon (Randy) Brierly, Marble Rock, Iowa; 32 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; grandson Devin Craig; three son-in-laws Kirk Massee, John Craig and Duane Craig; four brothers Paul, Bernard, Burton and Raymond Losee; and three sisters Twyla Roskup, Bev Montgomery and Louise Wagner.
