Lloyd Melcher, 66, of Charles City, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at his home in rural Charles City.

A Celebration of Lloyd's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa.

Lloyd Anderson Melcher was born on May 14, 1949 the son of Oscar and Phyllis (Anderson) Melcher.

Through the third grade, Lloyd attended one-room country school St. Charles No 8. followed by McKinley Elementary and the Charles City school system. He graduated from NIACC and was employed by White Farm Equipment Company, Charles City, and Fox River, Osage. Lloyd's first love was farming and until his health prevented it, Lloyd farmed the family farm southwest of Charles City, as well as his farm north of Floyd.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by brother, Gayle (wife, Joy) sisters: Darcy Mullenbach (husband, Tracy) and Judy Coyne (husband, Robert), four nephews, three nieces, and three grand-nieces.
