Margaret (Roerich) Reed, the daughter of Joe and Mary Irene (Rapp) Roerich, was born December 15, 1946 in Faribault, Minnesota. She attended school in Floyd, Iowa. In 1962, she married Roger Lee Hoy in Charles City, Iowa, and they later divorced. To this union four children were born: Julianna, Jacqueline (died in infancy), Joseph and Jessica. Also considered a daughter to Marge was Renae, a special niece. In April of 1983, Marge married the love of her life James Reed near the creek at Wildwood Park in Charles City, Iowa. They worked together at Shipper's Service, a division of Salisbury/Solvay Labs until 1991 when they moved to Colorado and later to Greene, Iowa. Marge recently lived in Albert Lea, Minnesota, and most recently Nashua, Iowa. Marge most loved being a "Granny" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was truly the happiest when surrounded by children. She had a keen eye and a great sense for decorating and was so proud of her house on Main Street hill in Charles City, a place she considered her happiest of homes. Marge made many delicious meals, attributing her knack for cooking to lessons taught by her beloved Grandma, Mary Grace Hillman. She was known for always having her coffee pot on and taking time to talk. Marge would open her home and her heart to anyone who needed shelter during their personal storm.

She will be truly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who will always remember Granny Marge as someone who loved them with her whole heart. Marge is survived by her children Julie (Mark) Drilling of Nashua, Iowa, Joe (Maggie) Hoy of Citrus Heights, Calif., Jessica (David) Beil of Grand Junction, Colorado and special niece Renae Shoars of Waverly, Iowa, grandchildren, James Jimmy" Shreve, RaeAnn Shoars, Samantha (Jason) Koskie, DaVail Shoars, Holly Shoars, nine great-grandchildren, siblings Vali (Mark) Reams of Topeka, Kansas, Eileen (John) Caldwell of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tony Matthes of Evansadale, Iowa, and Paula Jacobsen of Mason City, Iowa, many nieces and nephews and several dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim Reed in 2010, her parents, infant daughter Jackie, sister Dorothy Matthews, brothers John Rapp, Joe Rapp and Don Rapp, grandson Ryan Shoars, great-grandson Riley Huxsol and son-in-law Mark "Grizz" Huxsol. She is at peace now, living eternally with the Lord, her dearest Jim, baby Jackie and all of her loved ones there to greet her in Heaven.
