RITES HELD FOR BERNARD FOX, 63

Bernard A Fox, 63, resident of 8021 9th Ave., in Charles City, died at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital Thursday, February 18th, where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health since surgery in 1957. He lived in Charles City the past 22 years.

Bernard, or Foxy as he was known was born November 3, 1901, at Greene, the son of Bert Fox and Lizzie Springer Fox. He was married to Leona McLaughlin April 24, 1933, at Dougherty.

He worked for Butler County a number of years and farmed at Powersville three years before moving to Charles City where he was employed at the Charles City Manufacturing company until retiring due to his health.

Survivors include his wife, Leona, his mother Lizzie Fox, of Greene and an aunt, Marjorie Springer, of Greene. His father and one brother, Burdell, preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society. Parish rosary was recited at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City Friday evening and funeral services were held Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church at Charles City. Burial was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery at Dougherty.
