Samuel Clifford Wilson – October 14, 1891 – march 1, 1968

RITES HELD FOR SAMUEL WILSON, 76

Samuel Clifford Wilson was born in Floyd County on October 14, 1891, to Alex and Frances Miller Wilson and passed away on Friday afternoon, March 1st, while working on a farm near Rockford.

He was a lifelong resident of Marble Rock. He married Maude Taylor Janssen of Charles City on March 2, 1927.

Survivors include his wife, Maude; one son, Robert, of Conrad; one daughter, Mrs. James (Mona) Moore, of Conrad; one step-son John Janssen, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Alton and Floyd; and one sister, Florence.

Funeral services were held at Reid’s Funeral Chapel in Marble Rock on Monday, March 4th, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. A. Van Benschoten officiated. Burial was held in Westside Cemetery at Marble Rock.
