Sarah (Gibbons) Truax Imus – February 28, 1830 – August 22, 1905

Sarah Gibbons was born in Kent, England, February 28, 1830 and died at the home of her son, Dr. Walter Truax, in Breckenridge, Minnesota, August 22, 1905.

She came to this country when a little girl and in 1847 married Walter D. Truax at Waterford, Wisconsin. She was the mother of 12 children, seven of whom are living.

She was widowed in 1875. Eight years later she married Tabor C. Imus. She was widowed the second time in 1899, since which time she has lived with her son.

She was a member of the Free Baptist church of this place and the friends she formed in that association were very dear to her.

Sarah Fittle (Gibbons) was born February 28, 1830 and died August 22, 1905

She married Walter Davis Truax who was born November 13, 1818 in Vermont and died October 18, 1886 in Floyd County, Iowa.

**The above obit says Walter Truax died in 1875 but he was still alive in the 1885 Iowa Census/ Her obit says she married Tabor Imus 8 years later so that must have been around 1894 because by 1900 she is a widow.
