Isaac Sharp – November 19, 1830 – January 22, 1915

ANOTHER PIONEER GONE

Isaac Sharp was born near Rochester, New York, November 19, 1830 and when he was three years old his father moved to Chautauqua County, that state, where he remained ten years, moving from there to Kane County, Illinois

He was married on July 19, 1853, to Miss Agnes Cornelia. They moved to Floyd County one year later, purchasing 160 acres of land on section two, Scott Township, of the Government and in 1872 he added 160 acres more to that purchase and has lived continuously on this same farm nearly 60 years.

Thirteen children were born to this union, four dying in infancy, nine growing to manhood and womanhood; Hattie E. Shultz, of St. Paul, Minnesota; George E. of Niles, Michigan; Calvin J now deceased; Emma E Vanderpool of Kings, Illinois; Fred G. of Rockwell, Iowa; Nellie S. Squier now deceased; Charles S of St. Paul, Minnesota; Lulu B Hayes, of Kings, Illinois; and William A. who has lived with his father thirty six years on the old farm and who ministered to him in his last illness. His companion departed this life November 1, 1895.

Mr. Sharp was one of three of the last settlers in Scott Township, only Mr. Ambrose Smith is left, Mr. Kinney being the first to depart this life.

Mr. Sharp was a member of the Methodist church in Marble rock; also a member of Corner Stone Lodge of Marble Rock. He was a kind and loving father, a good neighbor and will be greatly missed from the neighborhood and community.
