Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Mohring) Lines Winder – July 16, 1868 – January 1954

AUNT OF LOCAL PERSONS DIED RECENTLY IN REST HOME AT CHARLES CITY

Mrs. L. Winder, 85, passed away at a Charles City rest home where she has been a patient for about three months.

Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home there. Rev. H. F. Mercer, pastor of the Central Methodist Church, officiated.

Mrs. Winder was born on the 16th of July 1868, in Germany, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottleib Mohring.
She was married to J. W. Lines of Marble Rock, who preceded her in death, and later married Lloyd Winder, who also preceded her in death.

Surviving is a son, Louis J. Lines, of Charles City; and two daughters, Mrs. Jane Nixon of Charles City, and Mrs. Fannie Funte of Madison, Wisconsin.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Dora Willert, Rockford, seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Winder was the aunt of Mrs. Bird Keith, Mrs. Maude Vorhes, Andrew and Lowell Carney, Mrs. Nellie Randall and Mrs. Ruth Schrader, all of Marble Rock, and Willard Hillman of Rockford.
