Jennie Weiss, 87, of Charles City, died July 14, 2015 at 11th Street Chautauqua Street Guest Home in Charles City.

The family requests that no services be held.

Jennie Lois (Fuls) Weiss, the daughter of Cornelius and Grace (Hovenga) Fuls, was born August 28, 1927 in Butler County, Iowa. She attended school in Allison, Iowa. Jennie and Melvin were united in marriage on April 9, 1947 in New York. She loved to play cards (Pennies From Heaven), cook, bake, and dine out with her friends. Jennie enjoyed being outdoors doing her yardwork, and tending to her flowers.

Since 1978, Jennie and Melvin would travel to Florida and spend their winters fishing, boating, and eating seafood. Jennie loved spending time with her nieces and nephews walking on the railroad tracks and having picnics by the rock on her acreage.

Living family members include her husband, Melvin Weiss of Charles City; two sisters: Mary (Gary) Grant of Missouri, and Lavon Hifler of Texas; one brother, Larry (Barb) Fuls of Charles City; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elton Fuls; a childhood brother, Clarence Fuls; and a brother-in-law, Bill Hifler.
