Hugh Golda Ramsay – June 16, 1864 – May 1, 1950

HUGH G. RAMSAY DIED ON MAY 1ST

Hugh G. Ramsay, 85 years of age passed away May 1st after being in ill health for over a year. Unable to keep up their home both Mr. and Mrs. Ramsay were taken by their son, Cedar Rapids last fall.

Mr. Ramsay was buried in the West Side Cemetery, Marble Rock, where a funeral service was conducted at the grave by Rev. J. W. Bearse Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Ramsay was born June 16, 1864 at Portage, Wisconsin. When he was about nine years of age he came with his parents to Marble Rock, where he lived the remainder of his life with the exception of one year.

On November 29, 1899, he was married to Nettie Tyler, formerly of Clear Lake, South Dakota. Two children were born to this union, Darrell of Cedar Rapids and Maurine of Los Angeles, California. They also made a home for Robert Hancock, whom they cared for from childhood to young manhood.

Mr. Ramsay is survived by his wife and children and two grandchildren. Mr. Ramsay was a life- long carpenter by trade.
