FORMER FLOYD OFFICIAL DIES
ROBERT RAMSAY WAS COUNTY TREASURER FROM 1916 TO 1924

Charles City – The Hauser Funeral Home Friday morning received the body of Robert Ramsay, former resident, who died at his home in Rockton, Illinois, after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church in Rockford Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. L. J. Inman of Marion officiating. Burial was made in the Westside Cemetery.

Mr. Ramsay, who was 85, live in Marble Rock until 10 years ago and was treasurer of Floyd County from 1916 to 1924.

Surviving him are his wife, a sister, Mrs. Agnes Ellis of Spring Brook, North Dakota, and two brothers, A. J. Ramsay of Lisbon and Hugh Ramsay of Marble Rock. The Mason Lodge had charge of the services at the grave.

His first wife was Theresa (Melugin)Ramsay. She died in 1915. According to his Illinois death record, his 2nd wife was Carrie McPherson. In the 1925 Iowa Census; Carries parents are listed as Jay Johns and Elizabeth Gates, so she must have been before too.
